About forty-five works trace six decades of Pomodoro’s career, from the large bronze spheres everyone recognises to lesser-known pieces on paper and in bronze. The nineteenth-century Piazza della Scala palazzo is part of the experience, not built for sculpture.

Between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries ideal beauty and ugliness, down to caricature, keep looking at each other. Curated by Chiara Rabbi Bernard with Bozar in Brussels, the show follows how two categories inseparable since antiquity change meaning in the Renaissance.

Three site-specific installations in the Cisterna space, built for that environment: a suspended web, a map and a grid, the recurring vocabulary Hatoum has used for years on precariousness and borders. A physical show meant to be walked through, open until November.

The first major Italian exhibition on the Brueghel dynasty: more than eighty paintings, drawings and prints. Snowy landscapes, storms, still lifes, peasant life and battles show how the genres of modern painting were born.

The largest exhibition ever held in Italy on Francis Picabia: more than a hundred and seventy works and documents. He passed through Impressionism, Fauvism, Cubism and Dada without settling in any, and night runs through it as a metaphor for desire and reinvention.

Salvatore Settis and Anna Anguissola trace the exchanges between the Mediterranean, East Africa and Asia from 600 BC to around AD 900, one object at a time. The display, in the Podium space, is designed by Rem Koolhaas and AMO/OMA.
