Eight scenes of Spanish popular life painted by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer’s younger brother in 1866 and 1867, shown complete for the first time. Room 60 is small: twenty minutes, best folded into a longer Prado visit.

More than 150 objects on loan from the British Museum on the last great Assyrian king, who assembled one of history’s first libraries at Nineveh. A solid archaeological show, more text than spectacle: allow ninety minutes.

Over fifty works by Felix Gonzalez-Torres, who died of AIDS in 1996: carpets of sweets and stacks of paper made to be taken away and used up by visitors, not kept under glass. The museum has extended it into metro stations.
