Danh Vo — πνεῦμα (Ἔλισσα)

14 February to 2 August 2026

A solo show by Danish-Vietnamese artist Danh Vo, known for working with found objects and dismantled historical fragments, from statues to family letters, to question identity, migration and colonial memory. Not an easy show, but a serious name in conceptual art.

Foam Talent 2026

6 June to 26 August 2026

Every year Foam picks emerging photographers from around the world: for 2026 it's thirty, chosen from almost three thousand submissions from 107 countries. Necessarily an uneven show, but one of the fastest ways to sense where young photography is heading.

Rembrandthuis (Rembrandt House Museum) Jodenbreestraat 4, 1011 NK Amsterdam
until 30 August 2026

Rembrandt & Life

12 June to 30 August 2026

A selection of Rembrandt's etchings following the arc of a life, from birth to death, shown inside the house where he lived and worked for nineteen years. Small prints, not grand paintings, but seeing them in the real rooms changes how you look at them.

Two shows in one, developed with the Smithsonian American Art Museum: David Levinthal's photographs of staged miniature dioramas from war and the American West, plus, from 25 March, a set of Chicano prints. Unusual for a museum once called Hermitage Amsterdam.

19 June to 13 September 2026

Nine rooms trace Ed van der Elsken's career, from 1950s reportage to his 1980s photo books. Beyond the famous prints, there are contact sheets marked in red pen and previously unseen book dummies behind that raw street style.

Thirty chocolate sculptures and embroidered works by CATPC, the Congolese collective working from a reclaimed plantation in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The title jokes, but the subject is serious: colonial cocoa exploitation, proceeds funding reforestation.
